The NIH (NIAID) supported the Southeast Regional Center of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infections (SERCEB), which has collaborated with the Center for Public Health Preparedness and Research (CPHPR) to develop a comprehensive education and training program in BSL4, ABSL4, BSL3, and ABSL3 laboratory safety practices that is conducted in a newly constructed mock BSL3/4 laboratory at Emory University.
This five-day training is an intensive course that provides individuals with opportunities to network with other laboratory professionals and utilizes a newly constructed "mock" ABSL4 laboratory that provides a realistic training environment for all participants.
