Case Study Resolution
- Peter wrote a piece for the campus paper on his and Ann’s experience and its relevance to the dual use issue. His piece was picked up by the local press, expanding discussion of the issue further in their community.
- At the next local meeting of the American Society for Microbiology, Ann gave a presentation on research with dual use potential and the importance of scientists engaging in relevant policy development.
- Peter volunteered to serve on the IBC, and proposed adding questions to their recombinant DNA research disclosure form that address the 7 types of experiments of concern highlighted by the NAS and NSABB.
